It's been awhile since my last post. Blame it on the holiday bustle ;)
We enjoyed our stay in Oklahoma, unfortunately there aren't any pics of it to document. Now that we are back in town, we've been preparing for all things Christmas. We went and found the perfect tree at a tree farm down the way from us. It was a cold blustery day, the kind where your face stiffens in the wind and it's hard to even move your mouth to talk. Brrrrr. Anyhow, we found our tree while the boys munched away on powdered donuts we picked up at the convenient store for breakfast ...Mother of the Year over here!!!
Rhoane isn't happy in the picture, he wanted to hold the box of donuts
but it just wasn't going to happen.
"Seriously Mom?... it's too cold to be pausing for pictures"
L scoping out the best location to hang his Nutcracker.
Our sweet simple tree! Of which A has successfully un decorated the bottom half of!
With the younglings we couldn't risk (I didnt want the hassle of) having the breakables out. So it was plastic bulbs, and stuffed gingerbread garland :)
Random: A's kissy fish face. I love it.
Hands Across Northeast.
At the boys school, the kindergarteners made ornaments to hang on the big spruce out front of the school. Sam made a wreath. Afterward we all gathered in a big circle and sang Christmas carols :)
Gingerbread House
After a few safety violations (note: scissors in eldest boys hands, soccer ball in sink) I decided the part where we put the house together would be mine...they helped to decorate it.
Leif's personal G-bread house he created at school.
I made these holiday gift bags from scrap paper and Dollar Tree bags.
In them were these...
I handmade these for my Young Women for Christmas this year.
Along with them I included a journal and some highlighter pencils for their scriptures.
Jared tells me they are very "Relief Society"...better to prepare them for what's coming next, I say ;p
Santa Claus is coming to town...
Good for you if you stayed with this post all the way thru. It's kind of long...and picture-y.
Happy Holidays to all of you.
May your days be merry and bright!

Where to begin?! I love it all, as usual...the picture w/ Rhoane looking so sad for not getting to hold the donuts, poor thing. The tree is amazingly beautiful and I love your craftiness.
THe gingerbread houses are adorable. Ours never come out looking so cute (for some reason they always want to cave in).
Do you mind sharing with me how you made the ornaments w/ the Savior. I LOVE them! I am such a bad YW leader that for some reason, I thought we had another Sunday before Christmas. Those are MARVELOUS!!!
I absolutely love the famiy Christmas picture too.
Oooh, again I think you DO receive mother of the year!! I want to live in your house. Hoorah for the fresh tree. I love Rhoane's face...so funny...poor little man and here I am laughing at him. Beautiful fam picture. You are all so darling. I really like your ornaments for your YW. What a great idea!

I LOVE your family picture! You're so gorgeous and have the cutest little fam!
I gotta say...Rhoane's crying was probably my favorite part ever. It was oh-so-honest.
I'm jealous of your fresh hand-hewn tree, I haven't had one of those since I was a kid! I do so love the convenience of fakeys though ;)
Look at you all crafty! I love the bags and the ornaments and everything! So cute!
Jared doesn't look as happy about picking out that tree as he did in Oklahoma back in 2001...but maybe that's because we were chopping down a tree in the middle of a field and hiding from the passing cars.
You are just the craftiest person...is that a word? Too cute! I am glad to not have to brave the cold weather anymore...I think the 50's are cold now days! Your family is so cute and getting so big! Glad you had a great holiday!
I love everything, the gorgeous tree, the fishy-face, the crying, and the beautiful family picture. I hope you had a great Christmas.
