Dinner Don't ...or so I thought

Yes, I did it, I burnt dinner and I just wanted to cry. Let me explain, I get home from work, rally the troops, and play chauffeur all afternoon. I then come home and try to get dinner on the table before Jared is off to work (mind you, he has to be at work by 5:45p.m.) So anyway, here I am setting the table, wiping noses, cleaning up spilled juice for the third time and just about to tear my hair out when my nose catches wind of Jared's favorite "Hamburger Helper" smelling not so tantalizing...UGH! I had left it on the burner way too long without stirring and (as you can see from the picture above) burnt the bottom half of dinner, it was crusted to the pan ARGH!!!
Much to my surprise (after salvaging what was on top of the burnt crusty stuff) the measly dinner meal I served was gone in seconds!!! I've never seen the boys wolf something down so fast in their lives. They were chirping for seconds...you guys, that NEVER happens. I was overjoyed and confused all at once. So, needless to say, I found a new way to spruce up hamburger helper and I can't believe I'm saying this but...try it sometime LOL j/k I think this was an amazing one time turn of events and I think Heavenly Father knew I needed it ;) ...oh the joys of motherhood.

Yeah for you!! It sounds like a typical day in the Applegate household...although I don't cook anything as illustrious as that...just PB&J for us! J/k (kind-of). Isn't wonderful that the Lord knows when we can handle things and when we're ready to bail ship? There have been many times where the Lord proves to me He's watching and loving me.

Good for you for making a stressful situation into something positive. I need to take a lesson from you, Coty. I should look for the positive things in life more often. And isn't wonderful to realize that Heavenly Father is really aware of us...even when we are "knee deep in burnt Hamburger Helper". :)

That is too funny! I felt that same way today as I was trying to make dinner for Ty! It's hard to burn broccoli though...keep up the great work! I always appreciate your gratitude for the Lord and all he really does do for each one of us!

It seems like just when I'm about to cry, the Lord sends something that makes me laugh. That reminds me of the time I tried to thicken a stew w/baking soda instead of cornstarch. I know, I'm not sure how it happened either.
