Sunday, March 1

a few materialistic "reasons ta smile"...

my fav sunday kicks...

breaking out the warm spring bedding...

staring at before...

and after shots of my stairs...!YAY!

we finally finished the stairs!
(took a smidgen longer than i expected it to. then again, with three kids...one can never tell...)
*
oh, i-am-smiling...
{and aside from that...sundays always bring a smile to my face}

ps "realigning of priorities..."
in an attempt to paint everything that needs it for the next few years
we will be painting for the next few months, just painting.
there are a few "self projects" i will be accomplishing on the side, like the magnetic chalk board i am making for the boys, and the toy i'm crafting for rhoane's first birthday, etc.
but i've put away my sewing machine (and my rusty, mediocre sewing skills)
and have realigned my priorities... so, (other than strengthening home and family)
top item on the list -painting, painting, and more painting.
and there you have it.

accent love...

okay, so there were a lot of typos in that last post.
sheesh, you'd never guess i'm a mother of three with not a minute to spare for spell check...
oh well, my misspellings (and grammar) are besides the point -check this out:

an old stagecoach trunk i found at a "hole in the wall" antique shop.
with a little elbow grease and decoupage, it'll be perfect for storing my vintage quilts, eh...
"love it"

house to call home

okay, here are the pics of the interior of my home {in it's raw form, pre coty-fied}
*
short term -paint all window trimmings, staircase (oak stair tops exempt, we'll refinish those) and baseboardswhite
*
long term -over-haul kitchen, man cave bathroom, and utility room. oh, and any ideas on how to remove the glaze from the brick on the fire place? i want it red again.
*
*no, the floors on the main level are not black...just really really really may as well be black dark chocolate stain over-top the original oak and scuffed up in spots (for a faded look)
*
*these pics were taken before we scrubbed the tar out of the place, just incase you were wondering...
