detox...

So my friend mel (who is an incredible motivator and new mommy) has decided to go on a "sugar detox".

I, my fellow fat girls (you know who I'm talkin' to), am going to join her. I've been doing pretty good so far with controlling my tendencies to well, GRAZE all day long...but am ready to take it to the next level...

NO sugar... eekkk.

here's how it works, she has challenged us to go public (for motivation and committal purposes) for 21 days; and wants us to challenge our friends also.. dunt dunt duh...ya'll ready for this (music in the background)
Anyway, the rules are as follows:

1) announce on your blog that you are going to go on a 21 day detox
2) explain when you are starting it
3) list your own personal rules (everyone can personalize their own detox plan-but feel free to copy mine if you want)
4) invite anyone else to join you and in a post later list everyone who said they would
5) blog about how it's going (you can keep a food journal if you want) at least once every 3 days
6) list a great reward that you can give yourself if you accomplish the task--although if you accidentally slip-don't despair! Just keep at it! You can do it!

personal goals:
1) I ain't gonna eat no sugga'
2) I will do 30 min of cardio a day
3) I will only eat lean poultry and dairy products, no beef
4) eat whole grains and wheat
5) eat at least 8 servings a day of fruits and veggies
6) Drink 8 full glasses of water
7) cook only healthy meals at home
8) no eating out (ugh, all these new restaurants around. sheesh)
9) I'm gonna be proud of myself at the end; even if I don't shed a daggum' pound

I will begin my detox tomorrow night, after I go pile-up with my long lost cousins and chow on some brownies (sorry, I know I know that doesn't help).

My REWARD: I am going shoppin', weight loss or no. I'm sick of dawning my jammies for lack of something that fits...I'm gonna go find me some uh, cute transition clothes??? yeehaw!!!

You with me girls? like I said...Fat Girls Unite.

ps okay mel, it's official...i'm in.

You can do it. I can't do it, but I will keep checking your blog to see how you are doing. You know in January I decided I really, really had to lose the 20 punds I kept complaing about so besides stepping up the cardio (I do at least 60 minutes a day) I also stopped buying a candy bar everytime I went to the store -- and you know, sometimes I went to the store two times a day and that would be two candy bars a day....I stopped doing that and seriously, the weight is coming off....It's a great feeling and you will lose it fast. Stop beating yourself up! You just had a baby! You look amazing, but I think doing this detox is great for the future and to prove to yourself that you have the willpower and strength to give up certain comfort foods. You go girl! The boys love the picture of Lief with the frog. They miss getting "beat up" by him. :)

yeah, so i've given it much thought and have come to the conclsuion (after giving my talk sunday on self-esteem;) that i just can't set myself up for failure (because mark my words, that is surely what this would be..) even brent laughed his head off at me when i told him about it. BUT...i'm hitting the WW pretty hard so we'll see how that goes. oh and don't worry, you can totally come crying to me when you're about to kill your children on day 5 cause you haven't had your fix in nearly a week! j/k (not really actually) love ya.
oh yeah, so i'm looking at the house tomorrow night, i'll write and let you know how it goes.

I ain't committin' to no sugga! At least not right now- maybe later, but right now I'm eating whatever I want (I'm supposed to be gaining weight). But you go for it! You better make those boys get off the sugar too - you can't have it around- just to tempting.

I'm Brooke's sister in law and I have to say you are one dedicated chica! I really should do this detox too. I think I'll sleep on it and maybe by tomorrow I'll feel motivated to make a change. p.s. Love your pictures, especially the naked boys.
