4th of July... "mattie rotten moo" and jaredmy niece, mattison james and nephew, blake cameronfrisbee, look close and see the birdhouses my nieces painted...i just love those girlies
candice (my sister) coming in second...mom stuck with it until the task was complete...my niecey, Lillian drewbuba smith (aka colton, my brother) my niecey, scoutlighting the fireworks... then runnin' for dear life!!!mimi, papa, and bailey booCam, my darling eldest brother...roo chilled inside the whole night...cast and crew (almost all of them): blake, colton, casey, jake, cammian, cade, mattie, nick, sam, leif, courtney, scout, gunner, dave, bailey, brooklyn, mom, cam, lillian, candice, drew, jared and me!!!

our 4th of july weekend was wonderful.
chalked full of games, grillin' and grinnin'
nothing beats family and friends (and crazy tasty food of course).
candice froze our tee-shirts (exlplained below).
we had dogs, burgers, steaks, moms POTATO SALAD...
(huh-hum, you do not know potato salad until you've had my mom's).
fireworks...one of my favorite smells in the world.
and of course the reminder that yes...we are indeed, free
i teared up as i read the Declaration of Independence today.
O, how I love my America.

The Game: Candice soaked a t-shirt for each of us, she then folded them up and stuck them in the deep freeze over night. We had to do our best to thaw it out enough to put it on...the first person to get theirs on won, made for a chilly good time :)

Sorry to keep peeping in and COMMENTING, I just could not resist. Your blog is so great! You are such a good photographer. I love the pictures of the kid's running (their faces are adorable), as well as the one with the boy's back. Thanks for sharing your 4th-looks like ya'll had a blast!

ahhh it looks like ya'll had a great time. okay, is it just me or does it totally look like your niece mattie could be your daughter; the two of you look alot alike. really you and all your family come to think of it. anyway, write soon, i'm dying to know what's going on in "hurst heaven." love ya

Holy cow Colton is so grown up! It's been years!How is Cameron? It was fun seeing pictures of the family! I am glad you had a wonderful holiday!

Wow! I can't believe how much Colton and Cameron have grown up. I have not seen them since they were teenagers.

Your fourth sounds like a blast. Frozen tee-shirts?? That sounds like something fun. I would love to try your mom's potato salad; that picture of a firework is so neat. I think it is awesome you read the declaration of indepence. Is that a tradition of yours? I might have to make it one of my own.

It looks like you guys had a blast. There really isn't anything like having a great time w/ the fam celebrating our freedom. I loved your pics-your family is so darn cute!!
