greeted by Octobers creepy FOG this morn...
i won't do a post every night, but will keep you updated (periodically) with all the creepy crafts and fun dinner meals that we create, in celebration of the thirteen nights of halloween (another hurst family tradition). expect them to get a lot creepier as the nights progress...until the hurst's finally turn into witches and ghouls themselves ..mmwah-ha-ha-ha.... *creepy music in the background*
happy rest of october
ps...
the boys picked what they wanted to eat and viola...our scanty meal spread!!!
tonight's meal was maggots n' meat (a spicy noodle casserole), corn, butter bread and a bloody beverage. we had mud-nuggets for dessert (before dinner), mud-nuggets are chunks of chocolate, dove chocolate, mmm). oh and we dined with a swarm of bats overhead... it was a screeching good time.
the bats on the boys plates were made (by them) for our craft today, they also helped with the spook-trees (they are the brown paper sacks next to the main dish -got the idea here) and some toilet paper ghosts. we had a great time preparing this. the elders are coming over for dinner tomorrow night...wonder what they'll think of our little tradition? ..snicker.

Oooohh - sounds like fun. Carlin would probably love 13 nights of Halloween - it's his favorite holiday.
You are so much FUN!! I love all your family traditions. Every time I read your blog, I think, "Man, I want to be just like Coty". And guess what, my kids would say the same thing: wishing I was like you too. LOL.
Love the 13 Nights of Halloween and all of the pictures. Can't wait to see more. Your blog always cheers me up!

You are such a good mommy! I love the spooky dinners...so fun!
You are so fabulous! How fun! I totally read your blog and think-why don't I do this? Because...I don't! I wish I had such fab ideas and the desire to follow them through. You're wonderful, no wonder your kids are loving life!
That is such a fun idea. I might have to steal it for when Chloe gets a little older. I love Halloween!
What a fantastic way to enjoy the holidays a little longer than usual. I will definitely have to steal that idea. Craft day, I am impressed. You are such a good "mummy." (LOL-sorry I couldn't help it. I have my dad's sense of humor)
It is so funny you asked about Aimee. I talked to her the day you commented, and she had been thinking about you and had tried to call you that day. Unfortunately, she does not have your new phone number. The one she had was disconnected. She asked me to get it for her. Since she does not have internet right now.
In answer to your question she is doing well, but is a little lonely sometimes. But you know Aimee, the friendly little gal that she is, she is making friends quickly. I think she will adjust pretty soon.
She gets a little stressed being a mom, but who doesn't? She loves owning her own house and is making is super cute. They are busy remodeling it right now, so she is right in her element of design.
If you want to email me your number my address is okemmagrl@yahoo.com or you can just leave it on my blog and I will pass it on the her.
Take care, and keep the super cute Halloween food ideas coming. You're inpiring me.
I love that idea! How fun! Although my kids are older, they still love Halloween. Maybe I can start that tradition next year (okay my kids are only going to be in my house a few more years but hey it's never too late to start right?) One more thing, is that your mom? She looks very young - and pretty too. Thank goodness for great genes huh?
how cute! I bet the boys are having so much fun with your traditions! What a good idea. The table spread is so darn cute. Love the trees. I'll have to try those.
Coty,
