You know - I have never had apple butter. I grew up canning all kinds of things with my mom and grandma but never apple butter. I wonder why. Sadly, I don't even know exactly what it is. Is it like apple jelly/jam that you spread on bread? It doesn't really have butter in it, does it? I should look it up rather than look like an idiot on your blog. :)

Good job! You're awesome! Doing anything like that is a lot of work! I bet your house smelled heavenly.

uuggghhh, way to go...what a domestic diva, and it looks so yummy in the pot with all the spices in it (too bad you won't be eatin' any of it!!! lol j/k) i have been wanting to make some applesauce this year, but we'll see. do you make applesauce? i'm going home to PA today and for the weekend but will be checking my email from there, (and watching my diet...it's the worst place on earth though to try to be healthy...it'll be my true test.) love ya

I make applesauce and I don't add sugar so it is still healthy.

I also have never had applebutter I think it is a very east coast thing because I never even heard of it until moving out here. Your jars look awesome!

Applebutter or Apple Butter is basically a concentrated form of apple sauce; you make one to create the other. It's time consuming but oh-so-delicious and very easy other than the moderate monitoring (for occasional stirring)...try it, you'll love it.

I'll include the original un-tweaked recipe ( i tweaked it but it's still good with the original recipe) on my page.

Yummmm! I LOVE applebutter. Your's looks fabulous. I want to devour it on hot homemade bread, then lick the bottle clean....things I wouldn't admit in person have a way of coming out when I'm typing...

Thanks for educating me. :)

Well, it looks delicious, and I can practically smell it. I think I'll have to give it a try sometime. Thanks for the recipe!
