so as you may have noticed...i've been playing with the blog layout and color scheme. i just can't decide. i love the crispness of the white, it's classy. but it's blank. the pics pop really well, but it seems a little too sterile for the hurst's. we are a vibrant family -full of color, joy, chaos and mishaps. white is much too clean. but for now it's what i'm sticking with...
i refuse to "pay" for a custom blog. don't get me wrong, i don't fault anyone if they do...just not for me.

lol, I'm right there with you, I couldn't pay to have a custom blog designed either. Besides it's fun to change it up every once in awhile. I love the crayons in your header. Very fun. Looks good.
hmmm...i don't know, it's a tough call...one i've struggled with myself. i do like the white, like you said it's classy, plus, i'm way too lazy to be switching up my background all the time. on the other hand i also love the backdrops that other people have. what to do, what to do.
do you have to pay for those backdrops that everyone has? i had no idea; thought they were free forever.
well, they are free if you choose one that like a mazillion people have...but if you want to branch out and customize your own (unless you use the basic background and your own header pics) then you have to pay.
I feel the same way. I just changed my background to yellow after having it white for so long...we will see how long it lasts. If I had it my way, I would want the middle white and sides ever changing colors. Maybe they do have a template like that...I should check. Either way your blog is always rock'n.

The white IS uber-classy...but maybe a little boring for such a vibrant girl as you. Then again, you add color whereever you are, so maybe you don't need the added color? For what it's worth, I love LeeLou Blogs and I don't really know anyone else who uses them, so they aren't too too common yet. *shrug*

Coty, I love your blog. I know backgrounds are important, but to be honest, I come to your blog not because of the background, but because I always learn something from you. I love your personal pictures and I love the way you write. I think all of that tells me your personality much better than the background of a blog. I know, I know backgrounds are cute and hey I have one too--but I think it's brave to go white---and you definitely CAN and DO pull it off. Your writing and pics are the best.
