an attempt...

to make my mother-in-laws apple dumplings...

yields

yummy memories and dumpling mush...

but oh, it TASTED so good...

the line up.

spidey thought they were a-okay.

list of possible reasons the dumplings didn't set up...you choose which works best for you.

1) the left overs under the boys fingernails after a "thorough" handwashing (totally kidding here. maybe).

2) when i turned my back to put the sugar away, sam dumped a TAD more baking soda in the mix...hmmm (highly likely)

3) the way the universe is alined. it just doesn't allow the recreating of a mother-in-law's tasty recipes...who's with me on this one?

ps truly, they tasted GREAT ...BUT when they aren't what they aren't ..well, then they just aren't...

feel me?

i guess you got it figured out (the computer thing.) hey so...whether they turned out like Liz's or not....they still look super yummy. in fact fruity, pastry, bready like foods are my WORST weakness. i'd seriously sit down this evening and eat the whole thing. congrats on your weight loss by the way. i've been meaning to write and tell you that you're the bomb.com but forget when i have time. i'm going in the other direction i think...it's just too hard for me to try during the holidays...i just wanna eat everything in sight. okay ttyl. love ya

Yummy. I think I can smell it baking. :) I feel ya though; I can't make anything as good as my MIL.

This is random, but I LOVE your backsplash!

Hopefully the blog thing is all fixed now.

Ooooh those look yummy! Makes me hungry even though I just finished dinner :0) Your kiddos are so cute! Oh, and Sterling and I are in the Moore 1st Ward of the Oklahoma City South Stake. Where is the Village ward?

Definitely option 3. Although the first two are likely co-conspirators. Yummy though! I read your blog and I am in awe! I'm doing good to make stuff out of a box.

They look WAY YUMMY to me! Just think one day when your boy's get married (well, I know you don't want to think that far ahead) their wives will say, they tried to make your apple dumplings and they just weren't what they were suppose to be :}

Look D-lish! I hate the moment when you pull something out of the oven and think- What-the-what? I followed the directions perfectly-oh well.
