house to call home

okay, here are the pics of the interior of my home {in it's raw form, pre coty-fied}
*
short term -paint all window trimmings, staircase (oak stair tops exempt, we'll refinish those) and baseboardswhite
*
long term -over-haul kitchen, man cave bathroom, and utility room. oh, and any ideas on how to remove the glaze from the brick on the fire place? i want it red again.
*
*no, the floors on the main level are not black...just really really really may as well be black dark chocolate stain over-top the original oak and scuffed up in spots (for a faded look)
*
*these pics were taken before we scrubbed the tar out of the place, just incase you were wondering...
*

I love it. Can't wait to see it coty-fied. Such great bones and detail. The floors look awesome. Good luck conquering the man-cave! It's pretty sweet!

What a charmer! I am totally loving it. Basements in Oklahoma rare, uh! There isn't a house here that doesn't have one, they like party villes.

oh, i am in love! i love your built ins, so jealous...

i like the kitchen and the happening wall paper on the bathroom wall. super cool, and that seat in the back. wahoo!!!!

i have been taking off some serious paint {possibly led} on some recent vintage projects and i found this natural orange paint stripper at lowe's, you leave it one and then wash off, pretty magical. i have used it on metal and wood. maybe brick would work too, because i agree, the red is hot!
