Play ball!!!

Last night the fam and I made a special trip to the Academy Sports Store to pick up some baseball mitts and baseballs. We figured it was high time we occupy these warm summer nights with something exciting. And can I just say "the boys were on cloud nine". Leif (being the "know it all" elder brother that he is) would try and help Sam hold his glove up and would say things like "here ya go buddy, do it like this..." (much to sams annoyance, i might add) .
We also bought a T-ball starter kit complete with bases, a bat and all the rest, but we figured (due to the number of missed pitches, and the balls that somehow managed to go over the back of the pitchers head when thrown???) that it might be best to start small and work our way up :)
Here are some pictures I clicked of the action (we ate chocolate chip cookies last night too, so ignore the grungy chocolatey faces and clothes ;) .

Sam was seriously pegged right in the ol' noggin (more than once. practice makes perfect, right?)....poor little dude.

In this video both boys are shown catching the ball (please ignore my squirrel voice...it tends to happen every time I'm around my babies?!). It's pretty obvious the boys are used to me taking pictures of their accomplishments...they even stop to pose in the video, and leif is heard reminding me to "take a picture"... ;)

How fun! What a great idea...we might have to be making a trip to our local sports store soon too.

Love the chocolate chip cookie disclaimer, you're a mommy of my own heart.

That looks so fun, can't wait till Luke is old enough to play a little ball. He is pretty good at kicking a soccer ball along with falling down. Cracked me up when Leif asked you to take a picture.

So fun! I love that you think of fun things to do as a family. Hilarious that they pose for you so well! I love it.
I also loved your Memorial's Day post. We'll have to check out that park. It sounds great. Also, don't worry...I can totally picture you "chillaxin" (love that word, btw). We also forgot our camera on out Memorial's Day trip. Blah!
Horray for tomatoes!!! Yippee!! I love it when my plants flourish, too. I don't have a green thumb so it makes me soooo excited when they grow. I would love to see pictures of your boys devouring the fruits of your labor!!
