Each night that we've gone out to play ball has been followed by firefly watching. We lay out on the concrete and watch all the fireflies light up the shadows of the trees above us. Well, last night the boys decided it was time to catch a couple of their very own. So, I went in and grabbed some of the baby food jars I'd been saving (poked some holes in the top) and we got to work.
They were so talented at snatching up those fireflies and plopping 'em in the jars. I was surprised. I was thinking we'd have some gooey bug guts on us for sure (since "gentle" is not within my boys realm of capabilities as of late), but I was wrong--not a single bug was squished!
I just love chubby little hands, don't you!

i have always wanted to see a firefly! we don't have them in utah. they are so fun and magical. at night all we have that come out are mosquitoes. anything but magical.

What fun!! I remember catching firefly's when I was a little girl. Such wonderful memories. Your kiddies are too cute in those pictures. Love it.
Catching fireflies with my family is one of my favorite memories. I remember trying to tape them to my ring finger - that didn't work very well, but it was fun catching them...
Boys and Bugs seemed to blend harmoniously well, your boys look so cute. I too love fireflies, I remeber squishing them on my fingers to make a ring of sorts, poor fireflies.
ahhh, fireflies. They're one of God's beautiful gifts to us, in my book. There's something about chasing fireflies that makes me want to let the kiddos stay up all night.
I just love summers. I can't wait until Samuel is old enough to enjoy them!
i used to do that as a child..i'm sure you did to. i love those full circle moments we have with our kids. your babies sure are cute coty...so i haven't emailed. things have been nuts. will write tonight. love ya much.

I loved catching fire flies. I have not seen them in years though. Guess that's what you get with city life. Ho hum!
Oh, and I'm with Liberty. That would be my wish too and if I let my girls read your posts they would say it too. :)
