snapshots of a happy 7th!!!

the hubs and i dashed away for the weekend. back to the country for a celebration...what celebration you ask? our 7th anniversary!!!
we stayed and a little cottage in the woods. it's called The Falls Inn; it's a bed & breakfast located on the edge of lake eufaula here in oklahoma, and it's exquisite. it was the perfect little getaway.
the Falls Inn.
we had a private room and bath, and a private sitting room.. all for only $65 bucks!

this is us in the car, on our way to the B&B (sans kids) and excited!

12' water fall right outside our private sitting room (the sitting room was complete with wicker furniture, so country cute) there were tree frogs in the water fall too, i loved the atmosphere it all created.

the palm plants that surrounded our little private room, and lined the deck. loved these.

the love birds.
now off to dinner at Pete's place (an historic little italian eatery. and they served us WAY too much food, i sware i gained like five lbs).
our main courses...

then jared took me to the theater. is he not the cutest?

and when we returned to the cottage ...everything was lit up in white twinkle lights! are twinkle lights not the epitomy of romantic? and with the water fall trickling,,, oh the ambiance it all created... sigh.

the next morning, joyce, our hostess, created two omeletes for us (big as texas), then added fresh fruit (mango, pineapple, bananas), toast, cinnamon bagels, plum preserves and orange juice...what a yummy breakfast!
we had a HAPPY ANNIVERSARY indeed!
***
ps -we aren't in the habit of spending the night away from our children, but this particular night we did (first night ever!!!!) and it was seriously the best time ever! just me and the hubs. we loved the B&B (and our sweet little hostess) so much, that we've decided to make this a bi-annual retreat for just the two of us!
yay for trying new things, and finding fun ways to spend time with our companions, huh!

email all the details;) glad you had a great time, you deserve it.
PS. i'm depressed too, that we're home..back to the daily grind. i guess though, it's looking forward to those sweet escapes that makes it all worth it.

That makes me feel in need of a childless Vakay...any vacation actually. Well, so glad you had a Happy Anniversary, what a fun place to visit.

Your belly looks so cute. The first week back in Oklahoma about killed me, the heat that is. I forgot how dang hot and humid it gets here, but family makes up for it.

Oh how fun and now I'm totally bugging Carlin to take me there for our anniversary next year. And I'm a firm believer in taking time for yourselves and spending one night away from the kids. Even with just one kid it did so much for me and us. Happy Anniversary to you both!

yay! yay! for a much-needed childless vay-kay! I'm sooo jealous. Spencer and I always mean to get a weekend away, but before we know it, another year goes by :P I think this fall though, post-weaning of Scarlett, it might actually happen. Here's hopin' anyway.

You need that every year!!!! Seriously if Dave and I don't get away at least once a year I go crazy. He works 80 hour weeks, so maybe that has something to do with it, but still
